The LAS River Cup Competition 2025
It’s back and this year it’s arriving a little earlier! The Lure Anglers Society River Cup makes its return to the beautiful River Nene at Ringstead, a venue renowned for its hidden gems and stunning stretches of water. Anglers from across the region are gearing up for what promises to be another great contest, building on the success of last year’s event.

Last year’s competition (see results here) saw a fantastic turnout, with some exceptional fish caught under challenging conditions. Ultimately, it was Drew Sullivan who claimed top honours, setting the bar high for this year’s challengers. Will he defend his title, or will a new champion rise to the occasion?
Competition Format
This year’s River Cup will follow a similar format to last year, with just a few tweaks:
- 3 Pike
- 3 Perch (minimum 20cm – doubled for fairness)
- 2 Chub (worth an extra 50 points each)
All fish must be measured on the official measure provided. Competitors are reminded that a fishing mat, unhooking tools, and a quality rubberised net are essential for participation.

Prizes & Sponsors
As always, there are fantastic rewards on offer. The top three anglers will each receive a glass trophy, alongside a selection of incredible prizes from Wychwood Agitator. Special thanks go to Ian Todman at Wychwood Agitator, whose continued support – including at the recent Canal Cup, has been vital in making these events such a success.
