The Results – LAS River Cup 2024

This past weekend’s LAS River Cup 2024 was one for the books, with tough weather and challenging fishing conditions greeting the lure anglers who gathered to compete. Anglers from across the UK tested their skills against one another on the picturesque River Nene, but the day proved to be anything but easy.

Trophies are ready for first, second and third place!

A Slow Start

The competition kicked off slowly, with the first update revealing that only two anglers (Carlos Ramamda and Shane Seward) had managed to land fish in the opening hour. But as the morning progressed, the tide began to turn. More anglers started to post scores, and the event finally began to feel like a proper showdown. Pike were the star of the morning, with the occasional perch and chub making an appearance. Steve Collett, Team England’s Lure Manager, even managed to reel in a bonus chub, which bumped him into second place, just behind Jamie Potts who was now in pole posiiton.

As the hours wore on the action slowed, with many anglers exhausting their go-to lures. Jamie looked poised to hold onto first place, but Steve wasn’t done yet—he added a perch to his tall which saw Steve move up to first place.

The LAS River Cup 2024 Winner – Drew Sullivan

Action at the top

Lurking in third place was local angler Drew Sullivan. Seemingly out of nowhere, Drew turned the competition on its head. He found a hot streak, banking a string of perch to add to the pike he landed earlier. A bonus chub soon followed for Drew which catapulted him into first place and scoring well ahead of second place.

You can see from the final scoreboard it was a tough day for many anglers.
