The Predator Cup by The Lure Anglers Society (LAS)

The Lure Anglers Society (LAS) has announced that boats are now available to reserve for this year’s highly anticipated Predator Cup, offering anglers another exciting opportunity to test their skills across two competitive days on the water.

The event will challenge teams to target three popular predator species, perch, zander, and pike – with scoring based on total fish length. Each centimetre recorded will count as one point, creating a format that rewards both consistency and strategic angling.

Teams will submit their best four perch, three zander, and two pike to calculate their overall score. However, the competition also features valuable bonus points that could prove decisive in the final standings.

Any team that catches at least one of each of the three species will receive 100 bonus points. An additional 100 bonus points will be awarded to teams that completely fill their scorecard with four perch, three zander, and two pike, bringing the total possible bonus to 200 points.

To ensure a high standard of competition and fish welfare, minimum length requirements have been set at 25cm for perch, 40cm for zander, and 60cm for pike.

Entry for the two-day event is priced at £230 per pair for LAS members and £250 per pair for non-members. The organisers note that the pricing reflects the latest increases in Anglian Water ticket costs, with both boat hire and Predator Permit fees rising again this season.

However, anglers who already hold an Anglian Water predator season ticket will benefit from a reduction of £34 per person, per day.

With limited boats available and strong interest expected, early reservation is recommended for those wishing to take part in one of the lure fishing calendar’s standout competitions.
