Rutland Lure Open Launches: A New Championship-Level Predator Event

A new era in UK predator fishing competition officially begins today with the announcement of the Rutland Lure Open a championship-level event designed to give anglers a genuine taste of World Championship competition.

The 1st edition of the Rutland Lure Open introduces a bold new format, built from the ground up to mirror the structure, pressure, and prestige of international-level events. Every detail has been carefully considered to deliver an authentic championship experience on UK waters.

The competition will follow the official FIPSed World Championship scoring system, ensuring results are measured against the same standards used at the highest level of the sport. Anglers will compete in a team format, with two anglers per boat, over the course of a two-day event. Target species will include Pike, Zander, and Perch, testing versatility, strategy, and consistency across multiple predators.

The Rutland Lure Open takes the place of the well-known Lake Challenge, but it has been created with a clear and ambitious purpose – to allow every competitor to experience what it truly feels like to fish in a championship-level event and to give the winners the honour of lifting a true championship trophy.

For those who followed and supported Lake Challenge, organisers have confirmed that its story is not yet finished. More chapters remain to be written. For now, attention turns to the future. This marks the beginning of a new history in competitive predator fishing.

Over the coming weeks, detailed rules, scoring breakdowns, and full competition regulations will be released step by step. Competition booking will open soon, and anglers are encouraged to follow closely and stay tuned for further announcements.
