Secrets of Draycote 2025

The UK predator fishing calendar just got a major new addition. On Sunday, October 5th, 2025, Draycote Reservoir will host its first-ever lure-only boat competition, organised by the respected team at Smart Angling Group.

For anglers looking to be part of something new and competitive, this event marks a significant moment. Draycote, part of the Anglian Water Fisheries portfolio, has never before opened its waters to a lure competition of this kind — and with only 25 team slots available, demand is expected to be high.

Registration opens on Wednesday, June 4th at 18:00 (UK time) and will operate on a first come, first served basis. There are no waiting lists or pre-bookings — anglers will need to act quickly to secure a place.

• Species Scoring: Perch and Pike combined
• Special Feature: A Catfish Challenge, with prizes from Westin for the biggest and all landed catfish

A Note for Kayak Anglers:

Kayak entries won’t be permitted due to Draycote’s existing rules, but organisers have extended an invitation to kayak anglers to join from the boats — recognising the skill and experience of this growing angling community.

With a mix of prestige, limited entries, and strong organisational backing, Secrets of Draycote looks set to become a flagship date on the UK lure fishing scene.
