The Lure Battle: Perch League Launches Calling for Wild Card Entries!
The UK’s perch fishing scene is about to be shaken up with the launch of The Lure Battle: Perch League – a brand-new, high-energy competition filmed across the country, featuring bank-only perch fishing and some of the best lure anglers in the game.
With filming set to begin on June 16th and the first episode airing on September 6th, The Lure Battle is more than just a competition – it’s a showcase of skill, tactics, and sheer determination. Up to ten anglers will go head-to-head at different venues around the UK, fishing exclusively for perch under a strict points-based system.
What is The Lure Battle Perch League?
The Lure Battle Perch League is a two-day competitive event with daily scoring in four key categories:
- Numbers Point – most perch caught
- Big Fish Point – largest perch landed
- Topwater Point – success using surface lures
- Top Five Point – best combined weight of five biggest perch
On top of that, bonus points will be awarded to standout performances. For example, an angler who catches the most perch over both days earns an extra point, adding even more tension to the final tally.
But there’s a twist: the competition is run “in the dark.” Anglers will have no idea how their rivals are doing until the results are revealed – making The Lure Battle one of the most unpredictable and thrilling perch fishing events ever filmed.
