The Lure Battle Final is Almost Here – Who Will Take the Crown?
Who’s been following the action-packed Lure Battle over the past couple of months? We certainly have! It’s been fantastic to see UK lure fishing back on our screens, showcasing top-tier angling, intense competition, and plenty of drama along the way.
The tournament kicked off with 11 well-known sponsored anglers and 1 wildcard, each fighting for a place in the next round of this high-stakes knockout contest. The wildcard angler, Rafal Chlebek, was the lucky ‘regular’ angler selected from a live draw on Predator Tackle’s social media pages. Members of the public had the chance to enter for a spot in the competition, where the winner would fish alongside 11 well-known lure anglers.
One by one, competitors were eliminated as the winners from each match faced off against each other, gradually whittling the field down to just three. Now, we’re on the cusp of the grand final, and what a showdown it promises to be!
⚠ SPOILER ALERT – If you don’t want to know who made the final, stop reading now!
The Final Three
The stage is set, and the final lineup is confirmed:
🔥 Ash Costa (Gunki)
🔥 Robbie Northman (Savage Gear)
🔥 Thom Hunt (Westin)
These elite anglers are set to battle it out on Linear Fisheries, a venue better known for specimen carp than for lure fishing. This wildcard location could shake things up and lead to some truly spectacular captures!

Drama on the Water
It’s not just the fishing that’s been gripping – the competition has had its fair share of controversy too. In the latest episode, we saw Andy Page take on Thom Hunt at Rutland Water in what was an intense and tactical showdown. Both anglers landed some quality fish, and Thom delivered some particularly insightful fishing knowledge along the way.
Andy appeared to take the win on points, which had many viewers expecting to see him in the final. However, in a last-minute twist, the competition narrator announced that Andy would not be advancing, leaving many to speculate on what had happened. While no official explanation has been given, the only reasonable assumption is that a rule was broken – a decision that has undoubtedly sparked debate among fans and competitors alike.
A Showcase of UK Lure Fishing at Its Finest
The Lure Battle has been absolutely brilliant to watch. Week after week, we’ve seen some of the UK’s top angling talent brought together by Predator Tackle for a competition that has truly delivered.
What’s made this event stand out is the detailed insight it has given us into each angler’s approach—their decision-making, problem-solving, and how they capitalise on key moments. Every episode has provided valuable lessons, and I think it’s fair to say that most of us watching have picked up a few tips to take into our own fishing.
It’s also important to recognise that competitions like this wouldn’t be possible without the backing of businesses like Predator Tackle, who continue to invest in the UK’s lure fishing scene. Their support ensures that high-level competitions like the Lure Battle can take place, bringing the sport to a wider audience and helping it grow.
So, a huge well done to everyone involved—organisers, competitors, and sponsors alike. Let’s hope this is just the beginning, and we get to enjoy another Lure Battle next year!
The Final Awaits
With all the drama, skill, and passion we’ve seen so far, the final promises to be an absolute thriller. Three top lure anglers, one unexpected venue, and everything to play for – who will come out on top?
