Second Edition of “Introduction to Competition Lure Fishing” Announced for 2025

Following the success of its inaugural edition, Introduction to Competition Lure Fishing returns in 2025—offering a rare and exciting opportunity for anglers to learn directly from the UK’s elite lure anglers.

Set to take place on Saturday, September 13th, 2025, along the renowned Stratford-upon-Avon stretch of the Stratford Canal, this unique event is designed for anyone looking to take their lure fishing skills to the next level. With only 50 pairs of anglers accepted, early registration is strongly advised.

A Chance to Fish With the Best

What makes this event truly special is its format. Each participating angler will be paired with a seasoned UK competition angler, giving them hands-on experience and insights that could otherwise take years to acquire. It’s not just about competing—it’s about learning, growing, and connecting with those at the top of their game.

The UK lure fishing scene has seen phenomenal growth over the past decade. It now stands as a true force on the international stage—producing World Champions Nick Wilson and Ben Sharp, and securing a silver medal for Team England in the most recent World Championships. Several of the UK’s top-tier anglers regularly compete at the international level and will be participating in this event.

Thanks to the generous support of the Lure Anglers Canal Club, the event will be held on one of the most sought-after canal venues in the country—a stretch that is typically booked years in advance.

Exclusive Auction to Support Team England

Adding another exciting layer to the event, participants will have the chance to bid in an exclusive auction for the opportunity to fish alongside some of the most accomplished competition lure anglers in the country. All proceeds from the auction will go toward supporting the England Street Fishing Team, who continue to represent the UK on the world stage—often funding their own travel and equipment costs to compete internationally, including this year’s campaign in the United States.
