Sam Edmonds is Picking Off the Specimen Perch with Creature Baits
Following a recent trip to Morocco, Sam Edmonds returned to have a cracking session on the river after a good downpour the night before.
Sam said “The river I fished looked fantastic after a good downpour the night before, with a tinge of colour and a bit more flow. The extra water can make fish a lot more active, especially after we’ve not had any rain for a while. It’s getting to the time of year when creature baits really come into their own”
Sam’s fishing outfit at the time of capture was a Fox Rage Critter rigged on a 3.5g 2/0 offset jighead, Creature baits are one of his favourite types of lures to use at this time of year when crayfish become very active. The rod he was using was a Ti Pro Spin Finesse 240cm 5g-21g, with a 2500 reel spooled with 0.10mm braid, which is one of his favourite outfits for fishing a wide variety of different types of lures, to target perch on small to medium-sized rivers.
