ProFishingUK Perch League 2025: A Resounding Success

The ProFishingUK Perch League 2025 has concluded, marking a historic milestone as the largest perch competition ever held in the United Kingdom. With over 100 participants vying for the top spot, the league showcased an impressive display of talent and competitive spirit, making it an unforgettable experience for all involved.

The organisers expressed their gratitude to everyone who supported ProFishingUK, highlighting the community’s trust in the organisation and its commitment to enhancing the fishing experience with tailored products. The league ran smoothly, with only a few fish being rejected, a reflection of the continuous learning and growth within the lure fishing community. These rejections indicate that the league’s regulations and measurements are effectively contributing to the improvement of fishing standards in the UK.

Impressive Statistics

The statistics from the competition highlighted the abundant fish resources available in the UK. During the two-month event, a remarkable total of 938 perch were caught. Among these catches, there were 247 perch measuring between 40-45 cm and 46 perch in the 45-49 cm range. These figures not only showcased the skill of the anglers but also underscored the healthy state of perch populations in the waters of the UK.

Winners and Standouts

  1. Karol Karol emerged as the champion with a total of 454 cm. After finishing second the previous year, Karol demonstrated exceptional skill and determination, grinding until the very last moment to secure his victory. His performance exemplified the dedication and talent that define the best anglers in the UK.
  2. Gints Garbuzovs claimed second place with 451 cm, having held the top spot for 80% of the competition. Gints showcased remarkable consistency and expertise, catching over 20 perch measuring 40 cm or more, despite his humble claim of not being a perch expert. His impressive catches and strategic approach made him a standout competitor.
  3. Artur Gromak finished third with 447 cm, marking a significant improvement from his fifth-place finish last year. Artur not only enhanced his performance but also caught the largest perch in the competition, a stunning 49 cm warrior, further solidifying his status as a skilled angler.
  4. Adam Kolodziej, known for his consistency, finished fourth with 447 cm. Adam’s performance has kept him in the top three in multiple events, proving his reliability as an angler.
  5. Ian Jones, a newcomer to the competition, took fifth place with 440 cm, making a strong debut and showing great potential for future events.
  6. Krzysztof Paterek, another newcomer with a competitive spirit, finished sixth with 433 cm, while Tiger Stamp placed seventh with 431 cm. Both anglers exhibited impressive skills and a strong commitment to the sport.
  7. Darren Starkey finished eighth with 425 cm, and Mark Kellett, also a newcomer, secured ninth place with 415 cm. Mark’s decision to join the league proved fruitful, as he showcased his developing skills.
  8. Trevor Gunning, a familiar face in ProFishingUK competitions, rounded out the top ten with another consistent performance at 415 cm.

Junior Winners

In the junior category, Kaan Mustafa shone brightly, claiming first place with 282 cm. Known affectionately as “Ramadan Mustafa,” Kaan’s enthusiasm for fishing has clearly paid off, and he can now proudly call himself a champion.

Adas Liniauskas, with 234 cm, finished second, showcasing his potential as a rising star in the fishing community, especially considering this was his first competition. He received encouragement and support from his father, Vladas, who has been instrumental in introducing him to the sport.

Grayson Gregory, with 164 cm, and Will Birch, with 144 cm, also impressed, with Will being particularly noted for his consistency and dedication to lure fishing over the years.

While a few juniors were unable to score, their participation is crucial for the future of the sport, and the league celebrates all young anglers who took part.

Prizes will be engraved and distributed over the next ten days, with special recognition for the top ten competitors and all junior participants. The league’s success is a testament to the strong support from the fishing community, ensuring that ProFishingUK will continue to thrive and enhance the sport for all anglers.
