Multiple Perch Capture for Father and Son at the Perchfishers Fish In

Report just in from Simon Davidson who on the 15th September 2023 fished the Perchfishers Fish In on a Midlands reservoir. Simon, whose original boat partner had to cancel invited his father (James Davidson) along for the fishing session. 

James who was new to the world of lure fishing from a boat on a larger reservoir still had the enthusiasm and determination to fish effectively. As well as thoroughly enjoying himself, he managed to land his first-ever trout and a lovely 3lb 15oz perch for good measure. That’s not bad for a newbie!

Simon also managed to find some good sport on the day with multiple captures including 2 x 4lbers with the best being 4lb 15oz which was also a new PB. Simon was kind enough to let on to the tactics used…

“In what were quite terrible conditions – a red hot day, flat calm water and no wind at all I was fishing drop shot using a small shad and jelly worms between large algae blooms – eventually, we managed to find fish during two short feeding spells which paid off. So glad I caught my PB whilst out with my Dad. He may not be the best photographer – but I wouldn’t change it for the world”.

James is already itching to get back out on the boat and I’d expect with the guidance of Simon we’ll be seeing more impressive captures from the father and son pair very soon.
