Marc Salthouse Banks a Huge Brown Trout in Five Minutes!

You won’t believe your eyes when you see the massive brown trout that Marc Salthouse caught at Pennine Trout Fishery! It’s an absolute whopper and a true testament to his fishing skills.

The stunning Pennine Trout Fishery

Marc, an avid angler, braved the biting cold of sub-zero temperatures to indulge in his favourite pastime. Armed with his trusted Greys GR80 fly rod 7 weight and a Pennine Biscuit Pellet Fly on a floating line, he cast his line into the icy waters.

Despite the harsh conditions, Marc’s patience and skill paid off as he managed to entice a massive brown trout within just five minutes of casting his line. Overjoyed with his success, Marc couldn’t believe his luck and felt grateful for the opportunity to experience the thrill of fishing in such challenging conditions.

Marc Salthouse with his epic capture!

Marc said “It dragged me around the 2 acre lake for about 20 minutes, stripping my line down to the backing of my Hardy MTX reel more than once. Every time I thought it was ready it shot off again!”

To prioritise the welfare of the fish, which was caught on a sporting ticket, it was not weighed on a scale. Instead, it was carefully estimated to weigh between 15 and 16 pounds before being safely released back into the lake.

Trout captures are not often featured on this website, but we hope to change that over time. It’s worth noting that trout are predators, and whether you catch them on a fly that imitates a pellet, minnow, or crane fly, we would love to hear about it!
