Lure Battle: Perch League 2025 Announces Wild Card Angler

The Lure Battle: Perch League 2025 has officially named its Wild Card entry, and it’s Hayden Seabrook (HCR Fishing) who will take the coveted spot in this year’s competition. Chosen from a pool of 129 entrants via a random draw, HCR Fishing will now face off against a field of seasoned lure anglers from across the UK in this unique perch-only challenge.

The Perch League, debuting this year as part of the popular Lure Battle series, is a two-day, bank-only fishing competition focused solely on perch. Each angler will fish two 8-hour sessions across two days, with a flexible window for filming between June 16 and the end of July, aligning with the start of the UK river season.

Scoring is multifaceted and rewards both consistency and standout performances. Points will be awarded for the highest number of perch caught each day, as well as for the overall highest catch total across both days. There’s no minimum size limit for perch, and participants will use a clicker to log every fish caught.

In addition to the competition, exclusive prizes will be given away during the event, including limited-edition Lure Battle x YETI mugs, which are not available for sale and have been custom-lasered for the event.
