Lure Anglers Society – River Cup 2024
The Lure Anglers Society (LAS) is gearing up for its second bank competition of the year, and anticipation is high. Organised by Emma Evans, this year’s event will take place on the picturesque River Nene near Ringstead.
Competition Details
The River Cup competition will focus on three species—pike, perch, and chub—all to be caught using lures. The format is designed to be both competitive and fair, ensuring that everyone, from experienced anglers to newcomers, has a chance to shine. Here’s how the scoring will work:
- Best 3 Pike: Participants will submit their top three pike catches.
- Best 3 Perch: Similarly, anglers will aim to catch and submit their best three perch.
- Bonus Chub: A chub caught on a lure will earn an additional 50 points.
To keep the competition even, there’s no minimum size requirement for any species. Additionally, perch points will be doubled to level the playing field. Anglers must fill their catch cards with all eligible species to maximize their chances of winning.
Entry Fees & Prizes
Entry fees for the event are set at:
- £20 for LAS members
- £25 for non-members
This year’s competition will be held on an outstanding stretch of the River Nene, known for its excellent angling opportunities.
